If I’m lying, then let the sky darken and the sun disappear from the sky.
Hey! What’s happening outside?!?
What eclipse???
I haven’t heard that we are expecting anything.
Okay, you got me. =)

Governor Dayton made no such announcement and you will have to make due with your normal budgeting routine.
But almost as easily as that, on a politician’s whim, things could change for the better or for the worse for our industry. That’s why we need to be constantly demonstrating our value and letting the staff and elected officials from our cities, counties, and the state, know what we’re doing to bring spending to our service areas.
But how do we do that? Many of us do not feel confident in approaching those “high-powered” officials. If only there was a tool we could use to bring with us; a fill-in-the-blank type of form where we could put in our local numbers, mixed with some county and state numbers to better tell the story and strengthen our case.
Well, help is on the way! Our Public Policy Committee has been working on a “Tourism & Economic Impact” template to assist you in making your case. Make plans now to come to the MACVB Annual Meeting in October and pick-up this very useful tool!
Until then,
Best wishes!
Dave
