One of the great things about Minnesota is the changing of the seasons. Have you ever thought about how finally turning the page on winter and entering into the warmth of spring effects the behavior of us hearty Minnesotans? With warmth and sunshine come new hope and optimism. For many, there are positive commitments about exercise, eating right, ridding their lives of clutter and perhaps setting exciting goals for their DMO.
In a past organization I was involved with, I had the privilege of working with a very successful regional supervisor of a sales organization who was responsible for the Rocky Mountain Division. His mantra was “Green and Growing”. He lived the mantra and so did his division. At meetings, the pitchers of water had green food coloring, he wore a green blazer, often times some of the décor was green. Negative talk wasn’t allowed, only positive. The idea is either you are growing or you are dying, you don’t coast uphill. Where are you at? Where do you want to be?
MACVB hosts two events per year, the education summit and annual meeting. Both events are filled with a variety of quality education, networking with industry professionals and an opportunity to grow.
This year’s education summit is being hosted by Explore Alexandria June 5 -6. The agenda is coming along very nicely driven by member comments and suggestions. Everyone will be staying at the Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center right on Lake Darling. Our meetings will be held just down the road at Gathered Oaks, a very cool barn all fixed up inside in the middle of nature.
After our initial education on Tuesday, we will have a shuttle bus transport our group from Arrowwood to the Carlos Creek Winery for a tour and wine tasting. Then it’s off to Bugaboo Bay right on the shores of Lake Le Homme Dieu where we will enjoy dinner and our favorite refreshments. Later that evening, the bus will transport the group back to the Arrowwood where some will hit the sack and others will continue networking!
It is setting up to be another memorable Education Conference. We hope to see you and members of your staff there in June!
