I am honored to serve as your MACVB chair this year, and I look forward to working with the entire board as we serve you and the industry through a new year full of challenges and opportunities. Even though my colleagues and I sit on the MACVB Board, this association will not continue to succeed without each one of you. It takes all of us to engage at all levels to elevate our work on behalf of our communities and the state of Minnesota. I would like to encourage you to get involved in the various opportunities available to you. I promise you will get as much as you give through this work. You not only get to contribute to the work at hand, but you also get to learn from your colleagues while creating invaluable connections. The opportunities you have to get engaged are listed below, and please note you don’t have to stick to just one!
- Public Policy Committee – Stay close to the legislative process. Discuss updates, challenges, and strategies concerning the issues of greatest importance to MACVB.
- Education Committee – Get behind the scenes on the educational sessions put together for the association. Help determine the line-up of educational topics and speakers for the Friday education calls, Education Summit and Annual Fall Conference.
- Silent Auction Committee – Help to strategize how to make MACVB’s most significant fundraiser a success and find opportunities to connect with colleagues and vendors in the industry.
Please do not be afraid to dig in and get in the trenches with your fellow DMO leaders. We need each other and this association to be successful. In the least, we need your voice so please never hesitate to reach out to me with anything I or the association can do to be of service. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you this year.
